Colonial Chemical, Inc., a leading U.S. manufacturer of sustainable surfactants and specialty ingredients, has announced the upcoming addition of two new reactors at its South Pittsburg, Tennessee manufacturing facility. Scheduled to be operational in late Q4 2025, this expansion will increase the company’s overall surfactant production capacity by 15%, primarily in amphoteric and imidazoline-based chemistries.
The planned capacity increase reflects Colonial Chemical’s continued commitment to supporting customer growth and strengthening supply across multiple markets, including personal care, home care, and industrial applications. By expanding in these key product categories, Colonial is positioning itself to better serve customer demand and provide additional flexibility for innovation.
“This investment is a significant milestone for Colonial Chemical,” said David Anderson Jr., President of Colonial Chemical, Inc. “The addition of these two reactors and the larger production space will allow us to further increase production capacity while ensuring we continue to deliver reliable supply, innovative chemistries, and consistent quality that our customers have come to expect. We’re excited to bring this expansion online by the end of the year.”
This expansion will join a growing list of recent investments at the South Pittsburg facility, underscoring Colonial Chemical’s long-term growth strategy and commitment to sustainable, high-performance surfactant manufacturing.
